Dr. KK Cheng 鄭概強

Coach, Counsellor, Mentor

I practice coaching & counselling.  Counselling is a very rewarding process.  It is ideal for relief of mood and emotional distress.  Coaching is more appropriate for the exploration of areas that are important to the enhancement of our lives.

My counselling approach is firstly to focus on the daily distresses.  These stresses affect our normal daily functioning.  In my years of practice, I have discovered that this approach is particularly useful in dealing with anxiety & depression.  Once the distresses  are under control, I will work with my client to handle the long-term factors that have been affecting them with or without their conscious knowledge.  A complete process means a new breeze of freedom to enjoy life.

Before being a full time counsellor, I was in corporate management and also an entrepreneur.  I have also spent more than 30 years in corporate training, executive coaching and life-development coaching.

Area of expertise:

In the personal distress area, I am specialized in dealing with insomnia, anxiety, men’s covert depression, trauma, & life adjustment.  In the enhancement area, I provide executive coaching and coaching to those people whose beloved have long-term mood distress or are suffering from mental disorders such as schizophrenia, personality disorders, or bipolar disorders.

I use an integrated approach of client directed cognitive behavioral therapy with added intervention techniques based on gestalt therapy, emotion-focused therapy and Ericksonian hypnotherapy.  For trauma related distress I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
